The Brazilian National Team wrapped up preparations to face Zambia in a FIFA Series match. After the Canarinha’s final training session, head coach Arthur Elias spoke about the substitutions he plans to make for the next game and praised the tournament rules, which allow 11 changes.
“There should be around five or six changes compared to the starting lineup from the first match. It’s something that is part of our process and also an adaptation to the competition rule, since this is a FIFA window and now, under the new regulations, we can, depending on the opponents, make up to 11 changes,” he said.
“It’s something I really like for managing the squad, the minutes played, and knowing the right moment to influence the game with those changes. So we’re going to take advantage of this rule to maintain quality, maintain intensity, give opportunities, but above all maintain a connection that allows us to play well, beat every opponent we face, and win the competition,” he added.
The match against Zambia will take place on Tuesday (14) at Arena Pantanal in Cuiabรก, Mato Grosso, at 9:30 p.m. local time. Arthur analyzed the opponents and highlighted the points the team worked on in order to secure the win.
“It’s a team with very fast forwards, so we have to be careful in transitions, but also know how to exploit and attack this team, which plays with a back five and looks to stay compact. I see some areas that are more vulnerable, and those were the points we worked on in training to try to exploit when we have the ball.”
In Brazil’s first FIFA Series match, the team thrashed South Korea 5-1. The goals were scored by Ary Borges, Kerolin, Ludmila, Dudinha, and Tainรก Maranhรฃo. After the match against Zambia, the Canarinha will still face Canada on Saturday (18) at 9:30 p.m. local time. All matches are being played at Arena Pantanal in Cuiabรก, Mato Grosso.
